The mayor of Alcalá de Henares Javier Rodríguez Palacios and the Councilor for Historical Heritage Diana Díaz del Pozo have presented at FITUR the recovery project for the Interpretation Center of the Roman city of Complutum which will be located in the building annexed to the archaeological site. Complutum's more than years of history are the main axis of Alcalá de Henares' tourism promotion at its FITUR stand. Rodríguez Palacios has highlighted that “to talk about Rome is to talk about the history of Alcalá de Henares in capital letters and in the city of Complutense we approach it with pride and the utmost respect. "We want all residents to know the history of the city and its Roman site of Complutum betting on new growth formulas such as this Interpretation Center.
The archaeological and research work carried out at the Complutum site has shed light on one of the most important periods in the history of Alcalá de Henares. "What a few years ago was an abandoned lot is currently a knowledge space that shows the urban CXB Directory structure of a Roman city in which important vestiges have been preserved including the spectacular paintings on the walls of the houses" underlines the first mayor of Complutense. In Alcalá de Henares. “We have protected and ensured that this monumental complex of Complutum surpasses us in time and we want to make it known in an attractive way that makes us live a unique experience.” The Alcalá de Henares City Council will create an interpretation space with a marked educational and recreational character intended to disseminate the historical significance of Complutum and its territory. This new center will incorporate various types of resources such as texts images illustrations models audiovisuals objects or educational games with the aim of resizing this tourist resource and positioning Complutum as the great archaeological site of the Community of Madrid one of the most powerful tourist attractions in our region.
